This fall the online bookstore Adlibris will open a physical store in central Stockholm – rumours says it will be located right opposite to Akademibokhandeln’s flagship.
“It’s a big investment for us, and we are looking long term at it, says Johan Kleberg, CEO of Adlibris, the special paper Svensk Bokhandel.
According to information provided to the Svensk Bokhandel, it is Bokskotten’s 1000 sqm premises , in the corner of the Mäster Samuelsgatan and Regeringsgatan, one of the locations Adlibris has taken into consideration. It is opposite the Akademibokhandeln’s flagship store and will soon become vacant.
In addition to having a physical sales location emphasizes Johan Kleberg two reasons for opening the store. The first is to create a direct contact between Adlibris and its customers. The second is to use the store as a delivery point for those customers who choose click and collect. From a sales perspective, it won’t have a significant impact.
The range will mainly consist of books but also include the range from Adlibris newly expanded product range as crafts, office and kitchen goods.
The plan is to open the store before Christmas.
“We do not think this is going to be simple and humble to the challenge. We will try us out, ” says Johan Kleberg to Svensk Bokhandel.
