Åhléns will replace its CEO. Gregg Mowins, will leave his post in the autumn.
For the time being, the chain has appointed Stefan Danieli, the current CFO, as acting CEO.

Gregg Mowins has been CEO of Åhléns since the beginning of 2012. Åhléns´ sales during the period increased more than the market, and the department stores, especially the flagship Åhléns City in Stockholm has been modernized with investments in fashion, home, beauty and food and experiences.
One of the last decisions he participated in was the discontinuation of operations in Norway.

“Åhléns is now entering an exciting phase with additional investment in the department store concept and positioning in digital channels with e-commerce starting in 2016. Everything is in the quest to become the strongest brand in the retail sector,” says Thomas Axén, President and CEO of Axstores.

Stefan Danieli has before joining Åhlens held senior management positions at listed RNB Retail and Brands and earlier at Eyeworks Scandinavia AB.
