On Thursday, department store flagship Åhlens City Stockholm launches the first stage of a new home department totaling the 3600 square meters on the second floor of the department store.
165 brands will be on the shelves, many of them new to the chain.
In the first stage, the departments for Kitchen & Table and Glass & Porcelain are ready to open.
The new floor will offer a shopping experience inspired the focus and home furnishings from a total of about 165 brands, which are presented in a home environment.
New Brands in the first phase will be among Riedel, Laguiole, Tokyo design, Mikaela Willers, Gerbera, Klässbol, Rif Design, Sthal, Marlux, Bungalow and Iris Crafts. Other new investments include a show-kitchen with guest chefs, personal shoppers for interior as well as a service for home delivery of furniture.
”Our target audience is in the middle of life with family and career, and they want everything for the home under one roof. They see the home as a reflection of their personality and decorate with a mix of Scandinavian and international, old and new, cheap and expensive – and renews itself clearly on the season and trends. Åhlens plays an important role as we offer our customers inspiration and a modern amenities in different price ranges,” says Daniel Karlsson, store manager Åhléns City in Stockholm.
The opening of the home department will take place in two stages, the second on August 27 when the entire home planet is ready. On the same floor is already restaurant Sally Voltaire & Sisters and tourist information.
