Mia Brunell Livfors will be the new CEO of the trading group Axel Johnson after Fredrik Persson. He will hand over the position in a month.
”It is not only Sweden’s best job, it is Sweden’s easiest job, too, Fredrik Persson tells svd.se.
Axel Johnson contains companies such as Axfood, Axstores (with chains Åhlens, Kicks and Lagerhaus) Mekonomen and Novax (majority owner of Filippa K and Designtorget).
”Axel Johnson’s newly appointed chairman Caroline Berg has chosen to hire a new CEO and then I leave the course,” says Fredrik Persson.
Fredrik Persson has been with Axel Johnson for 15 years, the last eight years as president. He will continue as President of Axfood until next year and says he is most proud of is the employees of the Group.
”I feel proud of the colleagues and the companies I have had the privilege to lead. One should not walk around and be sad.”
He is also supposed to remain as the Chairman of Svensk Handel that has its General meeting next week.
March 25 Mia Brunell Livfors came into the Axel Johnson’s board of directors. Just over two months later, she becomes the company’s CEO. She’s recently been a key person at Kinnevik.
”In both cases it is about very consumer oriented companies that work extensively with trade,” says Mia Brunell Livfors to Svd.
She brings much knowledge of e-commerce, an area in which the Axel Johnson Group sees opportunities for development.
”Mia’s solid background from leading positions, deep expertise and long experience in building and developing businesses will be a great asset for us”, says Caroline Berg, Chairman of Axel Johnson.
