Axfood announces a new CEO of the  restaurant and retail chain Urban Deli.

Direkten-CEO John Andvaller takes over  the position in the late fall.

Urban Deli is a combination of restaurant, food hall and shop with four units in Stockholm: Nytorget, Skrapan, Mood Stockholm and at Sveavägen. Axfood owns 50 percent of the company.

According to today’s press announcement Urban Deli’s founder and current CEO Jesper Weidlitz steps off on his own initiative but remains in the management team. He will now have a role with a focus on concept development within the Urban Deli.

”It is about time for Urban Deli to appoint a CEO who can keep everything together and work with the existing business”, says Jesper Weidlitz.

John Andvaller joins from a position as CEO at convenience chain Direkten by 330 merchant-run kiosk stores around the country. Prior to that, John Andvaller held a number of senior positions within Axfood.
