Two Team Sportia stores have gone bankrupt – this weekend they had a large sell-off.

”It should not be impossible to find new owners for the stores. They are located in prime business locations. We have begun searching buyers now,” says bankruptcy trustee Björn Myhrberg.

The company Atletica AB that operates TeamSportia through franchise in Hudiksvall and Sundsvall have gone bankrupt. The employees are now redundant and will work during the sell-off that began on Saturday. TeamSportia in Birsta has eight employees plus extra staff, while in Hudiksvall in mall Guldsmeden has five regular employees, as well as additional staff.

The stores had sales of approximately SEK 15 million each over the last reported fiscal year, according to Handelsnytt.se.
It was the owner Michael Bovin who sought Aletica AB in bankruptcy.

But it might be tough finding a new operator for the stores. Birsta has already three sports shops: Intersport, XXL and Stadium – and a Stadium Outlet is announced to open this fall.

The stores in Hudiksvall and Sundsvall have been operated by Atletica since 2009.
