Biltema, the discount department store chain, is expanding rapidly. 66 new stores are planned in the Nordic countries during the next five years .
But it’s also aiming also outside the region.

Biltema, today much more than just car parts, has over 100 locations in all Nordic countries. And the chain seems to be constantly accelerating.
39 of the 66 new department stores will be sited in Sweden, eight to ten of these are to be opened in 2014.
”Right now we have a major focus on expansion in the Nordic region, where we’ve targeted the new establishments to be ready in 2017, but our future plans progress. It can go fast”, confirms Biltema press contact Henrik Jarl to Market.se.
An expansion in Europe is under planning, that’s what the chain’s founder and media shy entrepreneur Sten-Åke Lindholm, tells SvD Business.
“We will expand operations outside the Nordic region. It might be Holland or the Czech Republic.”
And Henrik Jarl confirms the chain is in the middle of an investigation in which a group of both internal and external people are looking at various interesting markets .
“We’re investigating expansion in both existing and market-specific solutions. It involves investigating the potential for further expansion. There are several markets that are similar to our present and where the geography and the conditions suit us. “
