Fruit and vegetables with bad looks are the new trend in groceries.
Now Bunnpris spreads its SNÅl concept to include a greater part of its chain.
What started as a small pilot test in Trondheim has in a short time spread throughout Bunnpris stores in Norway.
”The starting point for SNÅL fruit & veg was an initiative of several of our merchants to bring in goods that do not follow standard sizes and offer them at a lower price to take responsibility for better resource utilization. Here we give our customers the opportunity to choose products that do not follow the standards that are set to shape and size, and thus contribute to better use of resources – while saving money,” writes Bunnpris in a press release.
Bunnpris launched SNÅL fruit & green on 8 test stores in Trondheim on February 2 this year.
”Since then, interest has been great and we’ve got four new SNÅL departments in Oslo, 29 branches in Greater Oslo, Bunnpris & Gourmet Mo in the north and now 5 new stores in Sørlandet. This gives a total of nearly 50 Bunnpris stores with SNÅL fruit & veg so far.”
