Byggmax continues to report good performance.
From July to September total sales increased by five per cent compared to the corresponding quarter last year.
”But we are uncertain whether the weak start of the quarter was only due to weather conditions”, CEO Magnus Agervald comments.
The strongest month in the quarter was September. The hot weather in July affected sales negatively.
”It is uncertain whether the weak start of the quarter was only due to weather, or if the underlying market has been a factor. In the Finnish market, we have an uncertainty regarding the economic outlook”, CEO Magnus Agervald comments.
”During the quarter, we opened two new stores and one store has moved. Byggmax has now opened seven new stores in 2014, no new stores will open in the fourth quarter and a shop will be moved to a new location in the same locality. For 2015, we aim to open 7-13 stores.”
He says the ambition is to significantly increase the range and presence on the web for 2015.
During the quarter, four stores were converted to the concept Byggmax 2.0.
”Byggmax 2.0 stores continues to deliver promising sales growth and gross margin improvement after conversion. In the autumn of 2014, we intend to convert a further 15 stores. For spring 2015, the plan to convert additional 20-30 stores.”
