Denmark is the Scandinavian outlet-country right now.
But besides Factory Outlets and Designer Outlets, the first hardwareoutlet opened on Friday in Aalborg.
And Silvan might consider more after trialing the new concept.
Hardware retail has been a traditional retail business for long. But more differentiating has been seen lately. Starkki trials a 24/7-concept in Copenhagen and its Swedish sisterchain Beijer converts former Cheapy stores for a multichannel concept.
Now another DT Group chain tests a different concept as Silvan’s 42 store does not look like the other ones.
Almost all store interior is gone, and the outlet concept has more of a warehouse approach without shelves and signs. The store sells goods from other stores within the DT Group.
”It’s an outlet, like the ones you find in the fashion industry. The framework is not fancy – so we will target low prices on quality goods”, says sales director Jimmy Viedemann.
”It’s an opportunity to use synergies within the group.”
