Elkjøp Group takes over its main partner for service and repairs, InfoCare Workshop.

”The acquisition will strengthen our service offerings to our customers by ensuring efficient repairs and an even better service offer, says the Nordic country managers.

Norwegian Elkjøp Nordic AS signed on October 23 an agreement on acquisition of  InfoCare Workshop. The company has been the electronics chain’s main partner in the workshop services within product categories TV, audio, data, tablet and camera since 2007.

”People have never been more dependent on their electronic products than today and attach great importance for repairs go smoothly and efficiently. This we also hear from our customers who attach great importance that it is very important to get good help if something were to go wrong, said Danish CEO of Elgiganten, Peder Stedal.

”Gigantti’s sales of services has increased by 40 percent since 2012, and, of course, we want to develop our services further and to provide operating service packages even after the purchase,” says Finnish CEO Irmeli Rytkönen and Swedish CEO Niclas Eriksson..

Info Care Workshop has 330 employees and a turnover of around 284 million kroner a year. They have four workshops in the Nordic region located in Kongsvinger (Norway), Helsinki (Finland) and in Växjö and Linköping (Sweden).

Elgiganten group accounts for about half the volume as Infocare handles, the remainder coming from other partners. Totally, Infocare Workshop handles 3-400000 repairs per year.

”With this acquisition we are an important part of the value chain and customer offering interwoven into our own operations. It will strengthen our offer significantly and also ensure that we continue to have an efficient and competent after-sales business locally in the Nordic region,” says Jaan Ivar Semlitsch, CEO of Elkjøp Nordic AS.

The acquisition is sent to the competition authorities for approval.
