According to Statistics Finland’s retail trade flash estimate, the sales of retail trade decreased by 2.9 percent in January from January 2014.
Over the same period, the volume of retail trade sales, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, went down by 2.1 per cent.
In daily consumer goods trade, sales contracted by 2.0 per cent and the sales volume by 1.5 per cent in January from the corresponding period of the previous year.
In both retail trade and daily consumer goods trade, turnover went down more strongly than the sales volume, because prices also fell in both industries from the previous year’s January.
