According to Statistics Finland’s retail trade flash estimate, the sales of retail trade decreased by 2.3 percent in October from October 2014. Turnover developed weaker than sales volume both in retail trade and in daily consumer goods trade due to fallen prices.
The volume of retail trade sales, from which the impact of prices has been eliminated, went down by 0.8 percent in October compared to the same period last year.
In daily consumer goods trade, sales also contracted by 2.5 per cent and the sales volume by 1.6 per cent in October from the corresponding period of the previous year. There were 27 weekday trading days in October 2015, which is the same as in October 2014.
Annual changes in trade sales and sales volumes are given unadjusted for seasonal variation.
