ICA is launching several features as alternative to regular card payments, such as mobile payment, digital bonus checks, and simplified identification at checkout. Even a card application can now be performed digitally.
Mobile payments are now being launched in most ICA stores through the ICA Shop app that allows the customer to scan a QR code at the checkout and pay with their ICA Card or ICA Bank card directly in the app. No other cards have so far been available for ICA’s services.
ICA says this makes it possible for customers to collect their entire customer journey in the cell phone, from sitting at home and search recipes, find deals in their local ICA store, make a shopping list that can be sorted by store layout to pay by phone at checkout.
Bonuses, short rates and discounts are also turning digital and only needs an ID card.
”This is fully in line with our vision to make every day a little easier. Through digital solutions, we want to make everyday life even easier for our loyal customers and be where the customer is physically and digitally,” says Henrik Patek, Head of CRM & Loyalty.
ICA launched contactless card payments for their own Bank card this spring.
