Ica goes for more qualified health care in connection with its hypermarkets
This is done by ICA’s pharmacy chain Apotek Hjärtat opening Minute Clinics. Three trials are now permanent and three new will be established.
“The big advantage is that we simplify for customers. You can check your birthmark at the same time you buy milk, “says ICA’s CEO Per Strömberg to Dagens Industri.
Minute Clinics will provide diagnosis and treatment and preventative health care.
“By Minute Clinic, we offer our customers a wide range of easily accessible health services such as vaccinations and birthmark checks, without an appointment,” says Anders Nyberg, CEO of Apotek Hjärtat.
Today’s Minute Clinics are adjacent to three pharmacies in Stockholm – at Fältöversten, Odenplan and Mall of Scandinavia. In March, another three Minute Clinics open, two of them are Apotek Hjärtat adjacent to ICA Maxi stores. The aim is then to establish the concept gradually, especially next to ICA Maxi units, but also at other Apotek Hjärtat around the country.
”By opening Minute Clinics in existing ICA Maxi stores, we make it possible for customers to do more at the same location. It is exciting to now be able to see how the synergies between ICA and Pharmacy Cardiac leads to a better customer offering,” continues Anders Nyberg.
An appointment with a nurse with the possibility of medical consultation with a doctor will cost 290 SEK
Apotek Hjärtat and VD Holding AB, which previously owned and ran the Minute Clinics, has now created a new jointly owned company with Apotek Hjärtat as the majority owner.
Two of the three new ones will be located in Gothenburg at Nordstan and Ica Maxi Gothenburg, the third at Ica Maxi Häggvik, Sollentuna north west of Stockholm.
