ICA Group reviews its ownership in inkClub.
”Going forward we see limited synergies with our core business, says Liv Forhaug, Chief Strategy Officer, ICA Group.
Inkclub is one of Sweden’s oldest e-commerce companies and has been owned by ICA Group (formerly Hakon invest) since 2007. The company currently conducts business in 10 countries and has a wide offering of consumables – except for the original product ink cartridges.
ICA earlier said that Inkclub was a keeper and had important knowledge about e-commerce which would be useful when introducing ICA’s own e-commerce.
Now that the e-comemrce is launched, ICA Gruppen is conducting a strategic review of its ownership in inkClub.
The wholly owned e-commerce company Inkclub had sales in 2015 of approximately 500 million SEK and today has some 4 million customers in its customer database.
”Inkclub has undergone a strategic change in recent years, with a broadened offering and greater focus on B2B,” comments Liv Forhaug, Chief Strategy Officer, ICA Group.
“Inkclub is profitable and is experiencing positive development, but going forward we see limited synergies with our core business. We are therefore looking into strategic alternatives to our ownership in Inkclub.”
