ICA’s sales the first quarter of 2016 improved with strong March- and Easter-sales, reaching 5.1 percent.

Hypermarkets continue to be the strongest performer in the Group.

Sales in the Swedish ICA stores rose by 6.3 percent in March 2016 compared with the corresponding month last year. Sales in like-for-like stores increased by 6.0 percent.

In March 2016, sales in the Swedish ICA stores totalled 9,390 million SEK excluding VAT, which is an increase of 6.3 percent compared with the same month in the previous year. Sales in January-March 2016 amounted to 26,396 million SEK, an increase of 5.1 percent compared with the previous year.

ICA Gruppen estimates the calendar effect for March to be +2.9 percent.
