Ikea reveals it will open its first order and collection point in London, with a store in Westfield Stratford City this summer. This will be the first branch in a UK shopping centre.
IKEA order and collection development manager Jack Jackson says the new format marks an important milestone for the retailer.
“We recognise that customers today want to shop with us in different ways and our Order and Collection Points are developed to offer a new way for people to interact with us. Located within five minutes of the train stations and close to major bus routes it will be easy to access by public transport, something we know is important to many customers who live in London, ” says order and collection development manager Jack Jackson.
Westfield Stratford says the store will draw customers to the shopping centre and strengthen Westfield Stratford City’s destination for homeware shopping.
The store will act primarily as a planning where shoppers can plan and order more complex purchases such as kitchens, wardrobes and sofas – but also provide a selection of popular items.. The store will be located adjacent to a parking area.
