Both revenue and earnings increased at JYSK stores, displays the record accounts that chain today presented.
Founder Lars Larsen and JYSK next year celebrate 35 years in the retail industry in style.
In the recently submitted accounts Jysk reports a revenue growth of six percent to 18.9 billion DKK. The profit before interest and tax rose, JYSK announces an increase of 5.5 percent to just over 2.4 billion.
The figures cover only the JYSK stores – Bolia, ILVA and IDEmøbler are not included.
– It has been another year of growth. We have opened a lot of new stores and gained about 1000 new employees around the world. In these years, clients seriously consider where they get the most value for money – and it’s nice to see that so many choose our bargains, Larsen says in a news release.
JYSK has 2100 stores in 35 countries. The chain has franchisees in 11 countries, and operates the stores itself in the other 24 countries.
Last year the Danish textile and furniture chain opened about 100 new stores, and the trend will continue next year.
