KFC will get two new Swedish restaurants this summer.
The operator KFC continues to invest in Malmö – and choose an unexpected side in Karlstad.
NSP, which operates Burger King of Sweden, signed an agreement with Yum! Brands in February 2014 of rights to launch KFC in Sweden. NSP also plans to open another KFC in Malmö, which will be located on Stortorget square and is expected to open in April or May, depending on the building permit process.
In Karlstad, Olav Thon has big plans to expand the area next to Bergvik shopping center on the western side of Karlstad. It raises questions about the future of the newer Välsviken retail park on the east side – but KFC chooses Välsviken being next door to ICA Kvantum, Elgiganten Megastore, Jula and XXL.
”After the fantastic opening in Lockarp outside Malmö with sales of over 6 million SEK in December, we have great expectations for the situation in Karlstad. Välsviken is a growing marketplace with proximity to both the motorway and universities so we have high hopes of good sales and stable cash flows, “said Morgan Jallinder, CEO of NSP.
The restaurant will be a larger drive thru restaurant with about 150 seats and a large shared parking with ICA Kvantum.
NSP plans to open about 6 KFC- and Burger King restaurants per year in Sweden.
