Lidl has finally found its place on the Swedish market – according to the expert jury at the annual Retail Awards. The grocery chain was awarded Retail chain of the Year.
Retail Awards, with Svensk Handel behind, was held for the ninth year in a row on Monday evening at the Munich Brewery in Stockholm.
It was double in price Lidl during the evening. The chain received the Retail chain of the year award, motivated with the chain has now found its place on the Swedish retail market.
Martin Kauffner, CFO of the supermarket chain was named Leader of the year. The Jury highlighted his work with values, as well as the chain’s people strategy “learning by doing”.
This year’s sustainable store / retail chain was Coop. With its good anchoring of the supplier as well as resellers Coop has been at the forefront of sustainability work while the numbers landed right.
Eksjö bookstore became the Store of the Year. In the fierce competition from online sales attracts the small independent bookstore readers from near and far and speaks for itself with author visits, book sales and cheesecake at the book fair and “bookish” updates in social media.
