Two new sports concept makes their entry in Sweden in November, JD Sports and Nike establish their first stores with the opening of the Mall of Scandinavia.
In addition, Oakley shop also premieres in Scandinavia.
”Mall of Scandinavia is starring in the Swedish sports,” says Lars-Åke Tollemark, Managing Director Nordic, Unibail-Rodamco.
Mall of Scandinavia puts a lot of effort in their sports segment offer. Well-known chains Stadium, Intersport and Naturkompaniet as well as specialists Adidas, Björn Borg, Footlocker and Peak Performance invest heavily in new stores.
Now both Nike and British JD will make a market entrance.
Nike establishes its first store in the Nordic region, a store of 500 square meters, which put extra focus on segments of fitness and running. Competitor Adidas opens a 460 square meter large store offering shoes, clothing and accessories.
The new JD-store in the Mall of Scandinavia is about 480 square meter and the concept includes exciting interactive features like a digital wall with a focus on social media.
JD Sports has over 840 stores including 70 in Europe, operating under brands including Chausport in France and Sprinter in Spain. In November last year it sold the fashion arm Bank to focus on its sports brands.
When the Mall of Scandinavia opens its doors in November, it will also be a premiere in Scandinavia for Oakley. The shop offers sunglasses, goggles, fashion apparel, accessories and sports clothing in areas such as golf and winter sports.
Dutch Gaastra opens its first store in Stockholm, the second in Sweden, offering both functional clothes and shoes for the professional sailor and a collection that is based on the maritime lifestyle.
”To offer strong brands in all segments is a fundamental part of our ambition to Mall of Scandinavia, now we show that even sports and sports fashion are well represented. Through the amazing range, and with Sweden’s national stadium right next door, Mall of Scandinavia is starring in the Swedish sports,” says Lars-Åke Tollemark
