Since Media Markt gave a notice concerning 1100 employees in Sweden, almost all of its staff, negotiations with the union reached a settlement at few department stores.
But in most places, there are big disagreements.
”The employees can not work only three days a week,” says Suzanne Jenzinger at Handels in Malmö.
It was in February Media Markt wanted all employees to change their schedules and hours, cutting down on full time and work more weekends. Since then the company has negotiated the changes with Handels union.
In some stores, with only small corrections, they have come up with a solution.
But Handels own news channel handelsnytt writes that the parties are far apart on most other department stores. In Uppsala, Handels has requested an employee consultant to get the company to change its mind and in several other stores, negotiations have been drawn to the central level.
”Employees are grown livelihood guilty people. They can not work only three days a week. I have submitted proposals for new schemes”, Suzanne Jenzinger tells Handelsnytt.se
