Mio chooses to move to Gränby in Uppsala for a 5000 square meter store.
The store will open in two years. but already this year, five more Swedish stores will open.
”We have been in our current premises since the early 90’s and over the years has had a fantastic development. For some years we’ve had a need for larger and better premises. With the upcoming move, we get the optimal conditions to present Mio with a modern and inspiring offering,” says Claes Stolth that has been store manager at Mio since 2002.
Gränby city, and especially the northern part, is developing rapidly. In 2015 opened Blomsterlandet and City Gross and in February opened the sports and experience center Turbo. In the spring inaugurated a new, spectacular outdoor playground, three new restaurants, while Ö&B and Arken Zoo opens up new stores.
”Mio has existed in Uppsala long and has a strong presence in the city. The opening will strengthen and complement the area further and is an important part in the development of Uppsala’s second city center says Daniel Kvant Suber, business developer at Atrium Ljungberg.
Mio also says it will open five new stores this year.
In August, the chain opens in Katrineholm at Lövåsen retail park in Coop’s old premises.
”Katrineholm is a local market that we believe in, and we look forward to offering Katrineholm residents the complete Mio range,” says merchant Anders Ohlsson who also runs stores in Mjölby, Nyköping, Linköping and Norrköping.
The chain will also open new stores in Kungsbacka, Ängelholm and Malmö City and has started up on Falkenberg this year.
