DT Group’s Swedish building and hardware giant Beijer Bygg has appointed Pierre Nyström as new CEO, succeeding Anders Jakobsson who left the company before summer.
He sees big transformation work coming in the company and in the building and hardware business.
Pierre Nyström came to Beijer as sales manager in September 2013 and took over as acting president in March as Chairman Ole Mikael Jensen and Anders Jacobsson ”agreed that Anders Jacobsson would seek new challenges”.
“We are very pleased that we have managed to recruit an internal person to this important position. Pierre is already very familiar with our ambitious growth strategy as he is already focused on in their daily work.” comments Ole Mikael Jensen.
Pierre Nyström states that Beijer has a unique position in the Swedish building materials trade that has and will continue to undergo great change. The old business model with local independent builders merchants and limited economies of scale are rapidly moving from being driven out. Beijer has in this initiated a significant transformation in order to move to a more modern, more customer-focused and efficient business model. Beijer will further strengthen its complementary services at the side of the building material.
“I look forward to my new role, where it will be exciting to continue developing the largest wholly owned chain. The company has a huge potential in terms of skilled personnel and geographic proximity to customers throughout Sweden. Few competitors, if any, can beat us in these categories. ” says Pierre Nyström.
Pierre also has a background as CEO eg for Kvänum Kök AB and as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group.
