Dixons’ nordic chains Elkjøp and Lefdal in Norway, Elgiganten in Sweden and Denmark and Gigantti in Finland delivers a new superprofit to its owner.
The Nordic sales for 294 stores int the Elkjøp Group were 2,789.8 million GBP for the year ending April 30th. Last year’s turnover was 2,733.3 MGBP. This year’s profit was 116,9 MGBP compared to 125,5 MGBP.
Totally Dixons improve their result for 2013 with 15,2 million GBP. This year UK and Ireland delivered the biggest profit.
“Our Nordic business, which has been a stalwart in our group for a number of years, continues to deliver a solid set of results”, chairman John Allan comments in the annual report.
”In his first full year Jaan Ivar Semlitsch has consolidated Elkjøp’s postion in each of its markets, faced into some tough competitive positions and embraced being a part of the Group that will see all our businesses benefit properly from shared expertise.”
The like for like sales are up 2 percent.
”The electrical retailing landscape remains competitive, and Elkjøp continues to trade robustly against the competition supported by its low cost structure and its efficient sales and logistics platform, enabling it to deliver a 4.2% return on sales”, the report states.
During the year, Elkjøp Group rolled out its KNOWHOW services into the Nordics. And all the store brands have got a new logo.
“With new customer measurement tools, the team is responding dynamically to customer needs with improving satisfaction scores being delivered”, John Allan comments.
