NorgesGruppen is the largest food purchaser in Norway.
Now the company wants to make it’s costumers healthier by reducing the salt amount in foods with 15 percent by 2017. Therefore NorgesGruppen has developed a health and nutrition strategy.
“We invite both suppliers and authorities and authorities to a commitment to help us reach the goal of 15 percent salt reduction. It’s one of the most effective ways we can go to improve public health from”, says Aina Marie Lien, nutritionist at NorgesGruppen.
The strategy also includes increased sales of fruits and vegetables, whole grains and fish. Besides the salt, the sugar included in t he food will be reduced.
“We aim to be the best on healthy food”, says CEO Tommy Korneliussen.
