Cosmetics chain Kicks were Thursday named this year’s retail chain under the Shoppingcenter’s Conference in Bergen.
This year’s shopping centre is Strømmen Storsenter – and best centre management team can be found in the very north.

The shopping center conference was arranged by Norwegian NCSC, the Nordic Council of Shopping Centers.
Kicks beat category competitor VITA and household ware chain Kitch`n in the final.
”Kicks has undergone a successful repositioning, and in a short time taken a clear position. In addition, the emerging chain is a pioneer in the use of technology. The chain also achieved good sales growth and a positive contribution to the centers,” says marketing director of NCSC Norway Hilde Maren Schjager.
On the plus side is also Kicks clear ambition to be a driving force for sustainable development.
The jury praised the chain for its knowledgeable employees, the chain’s training Kicks Academy and the clear focus on professional development. The chain has been a spearhead in its sector in a short time. It has also led to chain last year grew by almost ten percent.
”By thinking availability across channels, Kicks has managed to create customer loyalty, high involvement and good care. They have simply taken the modern customer seriously,” says Schjager.

In the fierce competition with the country’s shopping malls, Strømmen Storsenter who won the title for the year and is also in the final of the selection of the year’s Nordic Centers.
”Strømmen Storsenter is one of the most professional shopping centers in Norway, and can point to great visitor and revenue growth in a highly competitive commercial area. They maintain high standards in all parameters, and has done an admirable work with retail mix and its strategic marketing,” says jury chairman Line Victoria Berg.
Amfi Alta was named “Year Operating Team 2015” ahead of Gunerius / Arkaden (Olav Thon Gruppen) and Amanda (Steen & Strøm).
”It was a tense jury as this fall again took the hike up to Alta. Part of the jury had the visited center earlier in connection with the nomination for the prize in 2012, and we were anxious as to whether they had managed to lift a few notches to since last time,” says Jury chairman Kjell Petter Småge.
”There is no doubt that these guys see it as important to help the local community and that this is in the spinal cord to all the team,” continues Småge.
