Scandinavian shopping mall company Citycon has got the green light to proceed with its new major initiative Mölndal Galleria developed with the NCC.
The construction of the new mall starts in August.
More than half of the space is already leased and now it is clear that Ica will move into the new mall with a large grocery store.
This week, the appeal period for the establishment of new Mölndal Galleria ended and thus have zoning gained legal force and the construction can start. Mölndal Galleria will have about 70 stores spread over 24,000 square meters and 830 parking spaces with Citycon as an active owner, developer and manager.
Citycon’s total investment is estimated at around 1.1 billion.
“Citycon has extensive experience developing successful district centers and a great expertise we will use now when we developing Mölndal Galleria,” says Nils Styf, investment manager at Citycon.
Since earlier, it is clear that several major chains such as H & M, Systembolaget and Lindex will open in the new mall and now it is also clear that Ica will establish a large grocery store.
“There is a great interest in investments in stores and concepts. Already three years before the opening, more than half of the areas are leased, indicating that the shopping center meets the customers’ wishes. The mall will have a good mix of large chains and smaller, local stores, ” says Nils Styf.
NCC and Citycon has a joint project company for the development, leasing and construction of Mölndal Galleria.
