Nordic Expert’s Power-chain accelerates in Finland in a speed that leaves the establishment strategy in Denmark way behind.
This week nine new stores open by converting Expert-stores – among them, the very recent openings at Stockmann are rebranded.
Monday’s opening ceremonies were held in Raisio, and like Vantaa and Tampere the chain considers it a success.
“The Finns have shown their willingness to lower prices. That’s why we made the decision to speed up the timetable, “Power chain CEO Mika Aro says.
“We are during Wednesday and Thursday opening nine new stores in Uusimaa, Tampere and Turku.”
The new stores are all located previous Expert stores, and are being reformed to the Power concept.
On Wednesday, Power is the new store label at the Stockmann department stores in Helsinki and Tampere and next to Stockmann Itis. Turku Stockmann will join on Thursday.
On Wednesday, stores will also be opened in Lielahti, Tampere, Porvoo, Lohja, Riihimäki and Järvenpää.
“Our goal is to be the cheapest home technology chain on the market: Power is actively monitoring the prices of our competitors. We will have the same cheap price as online, and update the stores with electronic price tags at least four times a day, “Aro summarized.
In Raisio a large number of customers queued early in the morning, despite the rain
“In spite of the rain in the queue had more than 1,000 people at six in the morning, “Aro says.
Expert says the store was visited by approximately 10 000 customers during the day, but the check out transactions went smooth.
Finland now has three power outlets and after this week’s openings twelve. Chain is targeting a 30 store network and by the end of 2017 to be on first place in the challenging market.
