S-group’s Estonian operations in AS Prisma Peremarket denies participation in a price-fixing cartel vodka in Estonia.

”We have not found evidence of involvement in fixing the price,” Prisma Peremarket AS Janne Lihavainen’s CEO emphasizes.

Estonian Harju court has made a decision, according to which a number of retail chains are guilty of in a price fixing cartel concerning vodka in Estonia in June-July 2009. The court considers that Rimi Eesti Food AS, Maxima Eesti OÜ, Selver AS, AS Helter-R and AS Prisma Peremarket has agreed to a selling price of 40-percent vodka to consumers. Vodka producers have been Estonians companies AS Liviko, Altia Eesti AS and AS Liiwi Heliis.

AS Prisma Peremarket says in a press release they strongly disputes the price of participation in the cartel and welcomes a government decision.

The case will now probably be handled by the higher courts in Estonia.
