Rema 1000 will streamline its operations. 55 employees in Rema Sales AS will lose their jobs as the subsidiary will be gone next year.

And all further recruitment is stopped.

Rema 1000 have initiated a number of measures to be competitive after the Coop-acquisition of Ica Norge. One is to stop the operations of Rema Sales from 1 january 2016.

Rema sales has 55 employees, who perform sales services on behalf of its own suppliers.

”The decision is based on what is best for Rema 1000 in Norway overall. We must simplify our organization and clarify the distribution of responsibility,” says HR Director Tore Høylie to VG.

According to VG, in an internal letter to his employees Rema manager Ole Robert Reitan says that despite more customers and increased volume the turnover does not come along. He writes that this is because prices have been lower and one of the measures to remedy the lack of turnover is a total freeze on recruitment in 2015.

But communications manager Marianne Moen tells VG that it does not apply employees in the stores.
