Byggmax continues to gain market share.
In the first quarter, sales increased by twelve percent in comparable stores – and a total of 17 percent.
“With an expanded network of stores, we reach more consumers in Sweden. We will continue to invest in 2015 to grow and gain market share, “says CEO Magnus Agervald.
Net sales in January-March amounted to 570.0 (487.0) million SEK, an increase of 17.0 percent.
Operating profit amounted to SEK -16.1 (-20.0) million.
“The fact that we continue to gain market share in our categories shows the strength of the Byggmax concept,” says Magnus Agervald.
Byggmax has a number of investment areas, expansion in Finland, e-commerce and construction services. The chain is simultaneously upgrading its store concept. During the quarter, 16 stores were converted. During the second quarter of 2015, the plan is to convert another nine stores.
A new store, Mariestad in Sweden, has been opened in years. In addition, butiksölppningar in Nacka and Vetlanda in Sweden, as well as Dröbak and Krokstad Senter (Oslo), Norway, are announced.
“The market in Norway and Sweden has been stable. In the Finnish market, uncertainty remains about the economic development, “says Magnus Agervald.
There are also rumors that byggmax is preparing an expansion in Denmark.
