The Swedish discount phenomenon Gekås in Ullared, who can attract over a hundred buses with visitors from far away in a day, get an eighth season of its television series.

“I think it is great that the series is so popular and it thus becomes another season. We have many new things going on in Ullared that we like to show in the coming season, “said Jan Wallberg Group-CEO of Gekas.

Over 600,000 followed the seventh season of Ullared. In summer starts the filming of the hit series Ullareds eighth season for Swedish cable-tv-channel Kanal 5.

The first season of Ullared aired in autumn 2009 and became Channel 5’s most successful Swedish show of all time. Each episode was seen by an average of close to a million viewers and the premiere show still holds the record for a Swedish production on Channel 5: 1,077,000.

Along with the success on television sales at Gekås has grown. In 2015, when last season was shot, the department store noted sales by 37.3 million in one day and the visit record reached new heights July 21 when 28,900 customers visited the store. 2016 has also started with a record as 107 fully loaded buses arrived at Gekås February 6th.

Among the profiles in the series are the faithful employees Morgan and Ola-Conny who also have their own spin-off series, and Group-CEO Jan Wallberg who share the department store’s new grand plans and exciting projects.
