Bunnpris drops Rema and returns to Norgesgruppen for supply and purchasing partnership. ”Rema stretched very far to keep us,” says Bunnpris-CEO Christian Lykke.
Fruit and vegetables with bad looks are the new trend in groceries. Now Bunnpris spreads its SNÅl concept to include a greater part of its chain.
Norway’s smallest, but fast growing, food chain, Bunnpris, is now considering breaking its cooperation with Rema. ”We have not entered into marriage with someone,” CEO Christian Lykke said.
Rema 1000 was rejected by Coop after Ica-deal. Now, the chain will still take over 20 Ica-stores by getting their hands on the leasing contracts.

The Norwegian grocery market grew by 6.64 billion NOK last year. The winners were stores belonging to Norgesgruppen and Rema 1000, according to the annual grocery report from Nielsen.

Everyone was happy after Coop’s purchase of ICA Norway. Even REMA 1000-CEO Ole Robert Reitan. But, according to Norwegian media, he tried to make Bunnpris buy ICA through international investors.
Estate empire Prima Group is bankrupt with a debt to a group of banks of 510 million NOK. Among Prima’s tenants are Rema 1000, Bunnpris and Elkjøp.
