The winners of Garden paper Puutarha-Sanomat’s competition for the best fruit and vegetable stores were announced on Wednesday at the Helsinki HeVi Gala.

The K-citymarket Rosendal and Turku S-market Wiklund Herkku was chosen by the expert panel as winner this year.

Last spring, S-market Wiklund Delicatessen was renewed from floor to ceiling. At the same time the fruit and vegetable area received more scope and opened a new salad bar.

”Fruit and Vegetables department has been our spearhead, and we have invested in abundance, quality and attractiveness in displays and selections. Behind all of this is, of course, is a skilled and service-minded staff. It’s really great when we stand out as Finland’s best in the fruit and vegetable section ”says market manager, Hanna Lempiäinen in a press release.

The K-citymarket Rosendal was awarded as the best organic vegetables and oleaginous fruits offer.

”Fruits and vegetables are already Finland’s best-selling organic category, and their consumption is projected to grow strongly in the future. Retailers should definitely grab this and provide consumers with what they want: tasty and high quality organic products, which has been placed in an attractive exposure,” says Pro Luomu Executive Director Marja-Riitta Kottila.
