Tiger has opened it’s first gamebar in Japan.
Customers in Kyoto were invited to to play table tennis, table football and different board games.
The purpose is to create joy, happiness and a social room for Japanese customers in the same way as on Mikkel Bryggergade in Copenhagen and in Genova.
Tiger, known as TGR in Sweden, has now 400 stores in 23 different countries. Japan is forecasted to be the largest market next year, although there are only twelve stores opened so far. But sales in a Japanese store are five to ten times as much as in a European store.
Tiger’s founder Lennart Lajboschitz was present at the Japanese opening of Tigers Spilbar
”I see a giant potential in establishing gamebars in larger cities where adults can meet up and play”, he tells Berlingske Business.
In Denmark, one bar is open and the next one will be in Absalons Church at Vesterbro in Copenhagen, recently bought for 10.25 million DKK.
