Postnord has started a pilot with collecting points in Sweden, Norway and Finland. The first e-commerce companie to participate is Zalando.
”Today we offer Pakkeboksen in Denmark and many appreciate to quickly and easily retrieve and return their goods in a package dispenser. Now we will evaluate if also other Nordic countries are ready,” says Johan Littmarck, Product Manager at Post Nord.
The vending machines are placed in shopping malls in the cities, close to hubs of public transport. In Helsinki is a station located outdoors – in Oslo is one located at Jernbanetorget.
Zalando announces a treasure hunt tomorrow Saturday. The fashion company has hidden treasures in four places in the Stockholm area “where you can pick up the package without talking to anyone,” as it says in the ads.
“We are constantly evaluating new solutions to improve the shopping experience for our customers. We see that the collecting machines are becoming increasingly popular in many markets. Our goal is always to offer an inspiring and seamless shopping experience for our customers and this initiative is another step in that direction,” said Michael Lindskog, Nordic Manager at Zalando.
Each collecting point has a capacity of about 40 packets and can be expanded if necessary. In order to collect the package two pin codes are required, which the customer get by text message notification.
The trial continues through September 2015th
